saturday(otr/ash), gc, duran^2, baseball and chai
6-point topic starter before i go to bed...
I. OTR @ MALONE
===============
so, how was the OtR gig at malone? did they play any
new-new stuff? did they play any old-new stuff? did
they play any new-old stuff?
"there's a difference... there's a difference."
II. ASHLEY PEACOCK @ YORK
=========================
how was ashley peacock (*if anyone went)? i was
planning on coming down, but something came up and i
was not able to. i'm bummed, because i REALLY wanted
to see ash. melissa, amy, rick, bruce - did you go
see him? did you buy his cd? it's a steal and very
good.
III. SAD DAY
============
today is a sad day. i found out that the galactic
cowboys broke up for the second time yesterday.
they broke up in 1994 when i just got into them, and
i knew it would happen again soon. oh well, one of
the coolest bands to never get any airplay (alongside
king's x and chroma key)... at least KX and CK are
still around and releasing albums in the coming
months (may and june, respectively)...
IV. SOME EUROPOP BAND...
========================
hey bruce, i hear that duran is gonna be playing
four straight days at the HOB in chicago... but so
far only pine knob is listed on pollstar. i wanna
go to at least one duran show before i die.
V. CONGESTION
=============
baseball in dayton is cool, but it sucks just the
same. it's jolly like a rancher, but intense like
hussein. i went down to get some peter mulvey
advance tickets from canal street on thursday, and
it was opening night for the dayton dragons. too
many people, too many cars, no parking spots (this
is gonna suck on concert nights when there is a
home game).
i swung by the field tonight, and hung around
outside by the right field fence. it's cool,
because you can see the game perfectly without
paying a dime. buncha suckers paid to get in...
:P'
anyway, i'm just happy that the dragons are playing
on the road this next friday and saturday, so it
won't interfere with peter mulvey (fri - 5th) and
michael kelsey (sat - 6th) canal street tavern
parking...
VI. A BUNCHA CREPE
==================
i was checking out some coffee shops in dayton this
past week. none of the ones downtown are open late
during the week, and only two are open until 11pm
on the weekends. it sucks. one place (called
seattle east) was kinda cool, but they didn't have
chai... they did have italian soda and crepes. so
my friend and i sat outside the shop, drank our
beverages, looked at all of the people flocking away
from the recently completed baseball game, and made
lousy crepe jokes. i guess that's what it came down
to- lousy crepe jokes.
hmmm, i think it's time for bed.
