Okay, i've been staying out of this since it has nothing to do with over the
rhine, but i decided finally to throw in my two cents. Homosexuality does
indeed counter a fundamental Christian belief -- that the bible is true. I
know of at least two examples in the bible where it *explicitly* says
homosexuality is wrong.
Leviticus 18:22 "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is
detestable." (NIV; i think the NASV reads that it is an "abomination"), and
Romans 1:26-27 "Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even
their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way
the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with
lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received
in themselves the due penalty for their perversion." (NIV)
Now, if anyone can find any way to interpret those verses such that they
aren't condemming homosexuality, let me know. So yes, homosexuality *does*
contradict christianity, as far as i'm concerned. But i'm not gonna go around
saying that a person who is homosexual is a terrible, perverted person, 'cuz
doing that is judging them, which is also in conflict with christianity. So.
That's where i stand.
