in short:
in the middle of three mountain ranges
all y time as spent at 5000ft with hikes from the valley floor ( 0-1000ft)
to above 7000.
wrong turns
unused logging roads
5.3 off route to a 5.6 (really a 5.9)
5.7: really 5.8
5.8 - really 5.9-
5.9
5.9
5.9
5.8 really 5.9R
5.7 really 5.6
the water is so blue, your memory of the sky is confused
it's so cold that winter seems closer
the silence is comforting,
apline meadows with butterflies and stunted trees
looking down a cirque wall at a tiny eagle soaring thermals thousands of
feet below
wrong turn, wrong cirque
watching thunderstorms from ledges on cliffs 6000 ft above the valley
floor.
sunrises, sunsets
camping in the alpine meadows. driving to the sun...
the nightsky speckled with stars even at dusk.
it looks like the big dipper spills them out of its bucket every night.
it felt like living on the edge of grandness, everything is big, but
small. contradictions.
the people are quiet, something ican handle. i like small towns.
think i found a home.
i know, i'm babblying nonsense. i can't really explain what it was like. i
like ridges. heights are still a problem sometimes, when you're scrambling
up an almost vertical face to the summit. learning how to get over that.
maybe later i can come up with something better.
happy birthday to me.
my family forgot.
and spammers have too much info when they wish you happy birthday.
