Peter Mulvey's new album is amazing! I've been having it running over and over
all day. I want to try the extra EP (with eight songs, I'd say that's starting
to push into full album status), but I haven't wanted to turn off the main
disc. Especially "inner city blues", "for no one" and "the ocean". It cracks
me up that it was recorded in the Davis Square subway station. I used to see
him there all the time when we were both still living in Boston (Harrod & Funck
used to play there regularly, too), and I would often skip several trains so I
could listen to him for more time. That was the closest subway station to my
apartment for three years. So it makes me very nostalgic to have this album (I
don't think all of the photos were taken at Davis, though. The one furthest
inside and to the right looks more like Alewife.)

I was listening to an obscure peter gabriel song the other day (I don't even
know the name of it - it was on a mix of unreleased stuff), and I swear it had
the same melody as Etc. Whatever.

That is all.
