Bruceimi Battles the Blue and Yellow Robots

here's the exchange between me and the semi-retarded automaton that helped 
me at best buy tri-county last night.

Bruce: hey, can you look up to see if you have any of a particular cd in 
stock?

sure, who's it by?

Bruce: flaming lips

Scotty: [looking perplexed] who??

Bruce: flaming lips

Scotty: [same look, like i'd just asked him to marry me or something] was it 
in the flyer??

Bruce: uhh, i'm not sure, i didn't check. i'd imagine you'd have it, they're 
semi-popular

Scotty: ok, i can look it up. do you know the album name?

Bruce: i think it's "yoshimi battles the pink robots" i say gleefully, just 
'cos that so damned fun to say

Scotty: (he then looks at me with disgust, as if i'd just thrown his prized 
kitten on the grill) what kind of band IS it?!?

Bruce: (baffled by the almost angry attitude/response...) uhhh, they're kind 
of alternative, kindof poppy. (growing more sheepish and guilty that i like 
such a freak band) they .. have .. a .. lot .. of .. fans

Scotty: yeah, it says we got four today. i'll show you where they are.

(so we go back to the F's, where we can't find it, just like i couldn't find 
it, and he goes back to the computer, perplexed as ever.)

Scotty: maybe they're split in the store. i can check that. (checks, it says 
they aren't)

Bruce: could they just be sold?

Scotty: (looks at me with disbelief) it's *p o s s i b l e*.., but... do you 
think they would have sold all today??

Bruce: four stinkin' copies?!? yeah!

so i left with my dave matthews, the vines and james cds and the knowledge 
that a best buy employee undoubtedly thinks he met a member of the flaming 
lips just trying to jack up their sales, as there could not possibly be 
anyone else that would want their cd...
