RE: Is there anything to do in Ohio?
This may have been mentioned, but just in case it hasn't, when you're in
Ohio you can always stop by Fairpoint and Barnesville (where our two hero's
hail from). They are both just a few miles off of route 70, which is the
main highway through Central Ohio. Both exits are on the east side of the
state, only 10-20 miles or so from Wheeling.
To get to Fairpoint (where there's basically NOTHING to do, except drop
by the Polish Club--but of course, you have to have a friend who's a member
to get it =) --take the 2nd St. Clairsville exit (I believe it's route 8),
and drive north. There will be some turns once you get to the traffic light
of Main Street St. Clairsville, but just follow the Route 8 signs, and
you'll get to Fairpoint. It'll be about 10 minutes past St. Clairsville,
although it's only a few miles, because the road is very curved, and you
can't drive too fast sometimes.
Barnesville is a very nice small town with a 2 Antique malls/stores, and
an incredible Presbyterian church and Bank building (architecture wise).
Just take the Route 800/Woodsfield/Barnesville exit (# 202), and travel
south for about 10 minutes, and you'll drive right into Barnesville.
Oddly enough, I lived in Barnesville and St. Clairsville for a couple
years (before I knew that L & K grew up there). i just moved from St. C.
last year, and promply found out after that they had come from there. St.
Clairsville is also a very nice small town with a wonderful cemetary (Union
Cemetary), which is also right on Route 8, before Fairpoint.
Sincerely;
Daniel J. Summers
