visual artists (was Re: Another Question)

hey list :)

ysoie, that's funny.  i almost posted the same
question when we were "discussing" potential dumbness
and how to get out of it :)

1) my favorite painter is probably remedios varo, a
mexican surrealist (a woman).  

2) i also _really_ like the pre-raphaelites (hi,
bink!)--have lots of them around the house.  

3) now, my favorite painting is probably "the old
guitarist" by pablo picasso (blue period).

4) but what about charles rennie mackintosh, you ask? 
oh dear.  love him.

5) i'm betraying my great uncle by not mentioning how
much i love his work--but most likely none of you have
any "keith halls" around the house, eh? :)  i do
though--wonderful and risky he is.  he was one of
those guys who just went to new york with no money,
slept wherever and painted in greenwich village.  he
tells great stories and actually writes in the cards
he sends me for holidays.
