bunches of literate music

Toad the *Wet* Sprocket's _Dulcinea_ is named after
a maiden faire... and their Quixotic "Windmills"
from the same album points to the same Cervantes'
literary source.

King's X _Out of the Silent Planet_ title comes
from a CS Lewis book. Their _Gretchen Goes to
Nebraska_ concept album is tied to a short story
written by their drummer Jerry Gaskill who based
his short story after CS Lewis-y type things...

Extreme's 23-minute epic "Everything Under the Sun"
is based strongly on King Solomon's Ecclesiastical
writings. so is Kansas' "Dust in the Wind." heck,
i think a lot of Kansas' tunage is based on
mythology, too.

Echolyn's "Dear Wormwood" is based on CS Lewis'
_The Screwtape Letters_. Their _Suffocating the
Bloom_ concept album follows in literary form. As
do most concept albums...

almost anything that Saviour Machine ever does is
bound to their interpretation of the Book of
Revelation- which would make the worst Jerry
Bruckheimer Film *EVER*... he has the tendency to
ruin perfectly good storylines (sorry, that was a
bad tangent).

the amount of musical artists who have used the
Icarus allusion is astonishing. i think i could
list of 20+... and i *know* that i'm brainfarting.
Icarus is highly OVERUSED...

there's more... but it's the beginning of the work
day, and i've gotta get movin'... :)
