Re: the meaning of Flint



All these interpretations of flint are fascinating.  I just wanted to point out
that the original article that started all this said ""Revolver," by the
Beatles, is kind of the essential flint tool of his epoch, something he always
carried with him in case he needed to make fire."  Not to discount anyone else's
take on the word, but that's what the original poser of the question was
referring to.  Of course, there's a fair amount of ambiguity in that definition,
as well.  Under what conditions would he need to make fire?  Would the same
"flint album" be applicible in all those circumstances?

I could use some Flint here in Michigan (ha ha),
