Ah...Good question, Jan.
If by "influential" you mean not necessarily favorite,
but something that actually changed me in some way:
Book:
'The Four Loves' by C.S. Lewis. Maybe it was the
timing. It kicked my but and made me see things about
myself that were...interesting.
'On the Road' by Jack Kerouac. I've never been good
at sitting still, but since I've read this book I feel
like the only save, loving place for me is anywhere
other than where I am.
Album:
This is difficult. Music doesn't really change me.
but...
'Good Dog Bad Dog' kind of makes me long for what I
don't have.
'Grace' by Jeff Buckley. Kind of makes me long for
what I don't have.
'Running on Empy' by Jackson Browne. Probably
changed my taste in music forever. Oh, and it kind of
makes me long for what I don't have.
Movie:
'Ordinary People' I saw myself and felt vindicated.
As far as the flint thing,
If by flint you mean something that sparks me when I'm
down/lethargic/melancholoy: Big Country's 'The
Crossing', Jeff Buckley's 'Grace', and (I swear I'll
slug the first person that makes a snike comment about
this!) Michael W. Smith 2.
If by flint you mean something that causes an argument
than it would be the Backstreet Boys 'Millenium' or
the first Ricky Martin cd.
Don't even try to peg me!
Kelvin
