How were the holidays for everyone?

How were everyone’s holidays? Mine were fantastic… We spent a lot of time with our families and had a great time.

On Christmas Eve, we were at my parent’s house for dinner and fellowship. Then, Christmas Day, we were with Wendy’s parents at their house with the extended family. Squeezed in between the driving back and forth, Wendy and I found time to be ‘together alone’ for our private Christmas.

As for gifts, they fell into three broad themes: Books, Calendars, and Quantity!

Books: Wendy received a bunch of books… The complete Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, a new Terry Goodkind, a new Terry Pratchett, and probably a few more that I am forgetting. I received a bunch also… The Professional Chef, 7th Edition, The New Making of a Cook by Madeleine Kamman, Larousse Gastronomique by Prosper Montagne, (these first three books probably weigh 12 pounds each!) Everything You Pretend to Know About Food And Are Afraid Someone Will Ask, and my own set of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.

Calendars: Wendy and I got at least 5 calendars… Far Side, Duct Tape, Optical Illusions, Cats, Kittens, and probably one more! The nice thing is… We love them! They’re all those “Page A Day” kind, which we really enjoy.

Quantity: From the load of gifts that we gave and received, we believe that the economy is alive and well! Additional gifts that are worth of mention: a giant pasta container (that matches the kitchen), an udder buddy, a Make-Your-Own Mummy, a talking lollipop (no kidding!), catnip bubbles, homies, and much more.

It was a nice Christmas.
