short brian anecdote

Fred arrives at Cornerstone very late and very tired and annoyed with
rain and disorganization this year. Monk is already playing, but he's
not all that familiar with 'em, and, being cranky, he only spends a
couple of minutes at the tent. (I know, y'all. I'm sorry.) Then he
walks over to the Guido's coffee tent to see what's happening there. And
he listens, and he hadn't, somehow, looked at the band when he was in the
tent. And he suddenly realizes: that's Brian playing. And it was. See,
I didn't have any idea Brian was playing with Ric at that point. And
there's a voice in his playing. It's a recognizable voice. And that's
cool.

Yeah, I got some nostalgia, buddy. But mutability is immutable. If we
accept the wave of change and ride it, there's a beauty there that is
better than nostalgia.

That is all.

Fred
