yes thank you and well said...i think also that part of the problem is that many christians are
blinded and to such a degree only accept and do not question...in matters related to christianity,
that is...and i think that too many christians view all christian art as good art simply because
of that which supposedly inspires...that to say that i think there are a lot more discerning art
critics outside the realm of christianity than inside...becuase unfortunatly this also translates,
in many cases, to dismissal of amazing art from the secular world simply because it is secular and
it has been judged by standards not pertinent to the particular piece...for example, i am often
frustrated by christian friends who refuse to see certain movies because they contain immoral
themes or scenes...or portrayals of christian belief systems and things like angels...they hold
art up to standards of christianity when the religious allusion is only secondary to the piece and
it never claims to be doctrinal...this dismisses any possiblity of gaining understanding and
knowledge, and entertainment no less, from the movie in its entirety...all truth is God's
truth...and this lends itself to closely related topics of aesthetics and "in the world vs. of the
world"...
