i think it all comes down to honesty. if a person is creating something,
whether it be a painting, song, or quilt, they have the potential to be
creating something that can be considered art. i think what determines it
is whether it was created with honesty and integrity. it is not my place to
judge whether it is honest or not...i think i'm digressing. what i mean to
say is just this: if a person is creating an honest piece of work that
comes from the soul, and in that soul happens to be Jesus Christ, then we'll
see a bit of Jesus Christ in that work. Same if the artist is a Buddhist,
or an athiest. if a person is being honest, their worldviews and values
will tend to reflect in their art. but beyond this, i don't think there
lies an need to label anything. i think sometimes it's nice to find out
that your favorite artist shares your worldview, because it adds another
aspect of deepness. but that's as far as that goes to me.
