4/30 bogarts review

Well ya'll I have never written a show review before but I will give it a
try k? (unfortunately, not only did I not take notes nor do I have a
setlist, but I didn't even get to stay for the whole show! )

I went to the show with my adorable and sometimes charming younger brother.
However he was one tired little pill of a man this night, and he made us
very late, so I was trying to fight the temptation to be a pill too :)
(which by the way magically lifted the moment I realized we were on short
vine and going to see 'my favorite band in the whole universe')!

Well when we got inside I was relived to find that we hadn't missed any of
OTR! weeee!! I looked around to see if I could recognize any of the listee's
from their pictures and I thought I may have recognized Mr. Emery (how tall
are you anyway?) :), but I didn't want to drag mr. happiness (my brother all
around the place), cause he just wasn't in the mood, and I was greatful he
went with me and I didn't have to be there alone. :)

We managed to mosey over to a spot right by the stairs (stage right) (that
go down to the bathrooms). Someone mentioned the crowd earlier, that they
were kinda rude, very loud, etc.... I thought they were a little rude and
extremely (ummm what's the word? antsy) people kept shufflilng back and
forth to the bar to the middle of the crowd, to the bathrooms to the center
(of course this could just be where we were standing)

on to the show!!!

they opened with: All I need (everything) Karin's red hair looks really
rockin'!!! And she seems so comfy there on stage!! (I haven't seen them in
about a year mind you, and I always remember her as kinda standoffish on
stage) but she is just havin a time up there it seems :) they sound so
great, there is an amazing energy...and alot of unruly feedback (which by
the way didn't slow them down at all and didn't bother me one bit....it's
all part of the live experience!!!! yeah, baby yeah!!!)

They did a whole bunch of other songs too...but I can't remember the exact
order or anything: there was Moth, Anyway, Little Blue River, Goodbye, I
will Remember, June (which really rocked), faithfully dangerous, LUCY!!
YAY!! (who is doin alright now), ...and they were playing a supercharged
version of A Gospel Number as we were leaving :(, I drug my feet and walked
as slowly as I possibly could trying to hold onto every little moment I
could get!

I remember lookin' around to see where Terri was, it seems she was hiding in
the back corner of the stage, in the dark all night. Jack was
super....really groovy rockin sounds, and they all sounded pretty tight.
They were givin each other little happy glances and they were really
polaying well with each other and off each other all night. There is nothing
more fun than watching a band who seems like they really enjoy playing
together (with each other) and that was exactly the mood on this eve! ;)

Ok here are some details about the songs as best I can remember:

Goodbye really rocked in my opinion...I carried it around with me in my head
all night long...they just sounded really wonderful and Terry just adds so
much! Heck Jack does too!! this is definitely a full band song, I can't even
begin to imagine it as a trio...nice show piece for the band but my favorite
really rockin tune was Tumbleweed....blew my socks off (heehee)

I carried Faithfully Dangerous all of saturday and sunday, This is the song
that really moved me the most on this fine eve at bogarts. There was this
great improvisational section in the middle and doobee doobee doo's (and did
anyone catch the little puppy love glances Karin and Linford were passing
during this tune?) I almost cried it was so sweet! :)

They did LUCY (WOOHOO!!) I spun in circles, and was completely smitten, (I
really love this song, if you cant tell) and I was so happy to hear that she
is a real girl who is DOING FINE NOW :) you hang in there lucy girl!!

There is much more to tell but my memory is fading and transcending into
Kelly's truth now so I will let someone else share their sides of the tale!

I am very sorry I didn't get to meet any of the listee's, but there will be
next time (I hope)!!!!

Hugs n sunshine!
Kelly
