situation in Romania

you are right... Okay, I have gotten quite a few emails regarding this subject,
so I have chosen to make it a list item. I am sure others are wondering... Yes,
there is a war near me. And no, it *isn't* close enough to hear planes or see
lights in the sky! It's several hours away. Romania's stand at this point is
staying totally out of the whole situation, they have even closed down the
airport at that border, and I wouldn't be surprised if they end up shutting down
the whole border. They have told Romanians to get out of there.

I am fine. Not concerned. Although I am registering with the american embassy
(which they strongly suggest you do when you get here, but I haven't done it yet)
And there is concern among the Romanian people. for a couple obvious reasons. If
Romania joins the war they will be sending many young men over, and that always
causes fear in people. And it;s close enough that *if* Romania joins in there
could be a backfire where it moves into Romania.

But right now, it's distant and not a real part of our lives. We watch about it
on the news like everyone else.

Thanks for all the concern. I really appreciate it. Makes me realize that you
really pay attention to where listies are from/live!
