Canal Street Advisory
I strongly recommend -- urge, even -- that anyone from out of town
planning to attend the Canal Street shows get your tickets in advance,
because if you don't, there is a very real possibility that you may not
get in. Canal Street is a small (intimate) venue, and OTR shows usually
sell out. Having shows on consecutive nights may lessen the chances of
this, but I really wouldn't want to make a trip to Dayton only to see
OTR and not be able to get in.
Also, you probably will need to get there about an hour before doors
open, especially if you don't have advance tickets, because the line
gets long.
And for Chris who keeps asking about the "smoke-free" show: Canal Street
seems to have "smoke-free" shows fairly frequently. I think it's usually
at the request of the performers, but I don't know for certain.
Personally, I think it might be nice to come home from a Canal Street
show and not reek like I have a 10-pack-a-day habit for a change. (I
have nothing against smokers. I just don't like how I smell like
cigarette smoke after a concert.)
