i suppose i should get involved

greetings... i'm new around here, a long time otr fan, lover of music in
general, dreamer of dreams, lover of souls, and all around pretty decent
guy (by the grace of God!) I had to write for several reasons.. first..
Rick Callender, Megan Linton.. I know you! yes you! This is Joey
Weir... weiz to Megan... ummm... Rick...do you remember that band Would
Be Kings? That guy who played guitar and tried to sing... that's me!
How goes it?? Secondly, i can's resist telling everyone my favorite
bands, movies, etc., it's one of my favorite pasttimes. so...here
goes....

Favorite bands: The Beatles!!!!!!!!! Starflyer 59, Prayer Chain(RIP),
Seventy Sevens, Violet Burning (anybody got a CD copy of Strength or
Chosen they'd like to sell:):):):):):)?), Moby, OTR, Sunny Day Real
Estate, Poor Old Lu (RIP), Mike Knott, Living Colour, The Clash, Johnny
Cash, Duran Duran...........

Favorite Albums: Abbey Road(Beatles), Mercury(Prayer Chain), OK
Computer(Radiohead), Violet Burning (self-titled), Rocket and a
Bomb(m.Knott), Sticks and Stones(77's), Zooropa(U2)

Best Shows: Sunny Day @Metro in Chicago, Mike Knott@true tunes (remember
this one Rick...classic!!!) , Poor old LU@cornerstone, any Starflyer
show... any OTR show!!.. 77's@cornerstone

Favorite movies: Star Wars (all of 'em), Malcolm X, Say Anything, Holy
Grail, So I Married an Axe Murderer, Tommy Boy,Dead Poet's Society,
uhh... I just saw a great movie.. Smoke Signals.... see it!! it's
great!!

Favorite Books: Autobiography of Malcolm X, Cash (autobiography),
Frankenstein, ummmm.... of course.. the Bible!!! but it's more than a
book :) any collections of Edgar Allan Poe..

passions: serving the Lord, being a husband and dad, writing and
recording music.

favorite guitars: Fender Mustang, Jaguar, Jag-Stang.... anything
Rickenbacher... i don't own any of these... I have a Lotus and I borrow
a Strat from the other guitarist in the band i'm in now :) but one can
always dream.......

let's see.. someone asked to list ... something about favorite OTR
stuff... well.. from what i can remember..

favorite OTR song: Sleep Baby Jane.. a song that brings me to tears
every time just by how it sounds... to me that's a measure of a great
song.. like "Don't this way" by 77's... when the music itself is so
moving.... great art!

favorite OTR album: haven't heard GDBD... it's on order now... so..
well.. i'd uh.... have to say.... unfair question.. probably...
Patience... that's what was in my player when i first fell in love with
OTR.. so that one has sentimental value..

favorite OTR show: ummm.... i saw them at Taylor U. in ... i believe...
'94 or '95... "like a radio" was amazing... that was with Ric.. and,
being a guitarist i was partial to Ric, and.. well.. he blew me away
that night.. i just stared at the ceiling and dreamed while he weaved
images with his solos.

memories associated with OTR: college, pretty much reminds me of OTR...
but we were saturated with OTR back then... very spoiled, having all that
time to listen to great music.

adios amigos..... my daughter's teletubbies video just ended... so i must
tend to her...!

 PEACE HOPE LOVE JESUS CHRIST!
