Re: Hi, new here!

dear all,
hi, my name is tc and i am a long time watcher, but i have never
participated in any discussions. I'm one of the fringe people who silently
watch and gather news. well, i got to see over the rhine last night in
austin with cowboy junkies and i must say that i was amazed. they only
played about six songs, but it was worth the over priced scalped ticket i
got! the junkies, however, were boring. my question is this: why is a band
which is superior to the junkies opening for them?? i was miffed that OTR
didnt play more, but they did play almost the whole time with the junkies.
also, there were no OTR setlists, but there were plenty of cowboy junkies'.
anyway, here's the point: after the show i got to talk to karin and lindford
and they said that the emery shows are cancelled (or at least one of them
is) and that there probably will not be a rhinelander show this year. they
also said that they are playing CBS morning on the 16th and they are going
into the studio over xmas to record their next album. on a personal note,
karin and lindford are probably the coolest musicians i have met. they are
by far the most down to earth and interesting ones!
i hope i have given out info that is not already old! i enjoy ya'll's
constant bantering and such, but i rarely have time to partake.
     thanks,
           tc
ps: here;s a setlist:
bothered, all i need, poughkeepsie, a song by gillian welsh (or
somebody welsh), jack's valentine (karin sang all of it and i almost cried
it was so beautiful), latter days. sadly, thats all they played, but karin
showed up margo all night with her back up vocals.
