St. Louis show-comments

As you all have probably figured out, I'm not too gifted with the pen, but
here is my stab at the Labor Day weekend St. Louis show review:

First I have to say that the city was electric! The place was hopping,
mostly because of McGwire, but there was also alot of stuff going on
downtown (made Cincy look lame-o).

The sold-out show was at Mississippi Nights, a club Bogarts should aspire
to be. Seats ~800-1000. I believe quite a few OtR fans made the road
trip, because there was a loud cheer from a corner of the room when the
band came on stage. Karin-black slinky top&skirt, Terri-a pants suit, hair
up for OtR, down for Junkies. She looked unhappy the entire show. Linford
- lime green shirt and kakis, Gordon/Jack-std. flannel, Brian - I couldn't
see.

The setlist was exactly the same as they've been playing (not in order)

Man yells out the requisite "You're beautiful Karin!" She yells back
"Love me buy me record!"
Seahorse - No Jack improv this time. Man behind me commented "I liked the
tremolo sound, but this band needs a stronger lead guitar "(couldn't help
myself from agreeing heartily).

St. Louis' weekly alternative paper had an article about he upcoming
concert, and it basically said "the Junkies are good, but their opening
band is so much better. You will miss the best part of the show if you
don't catch Karin's voice." So, people were definitely tuned in.

I was really suprised how much the crowd talked during the entire (even the
Junkies) show. The guy behind me said it wasn't normal, people were just
pumped up from the baseball game. But the awesome thing was that OtR got a
standing ovation from the crowd! Lots of CDs were sold, and people were
asking me all kinds of questions about the band. I think they made a few
new fans.
