Hmm. I think I've been stuck under a rock my whole life or something,
because I've never even ~heard~ of a Charismatic religion. My God, if
I had, I think the name would've sucked me in. Charismatic! Who couldn't
like a band of people with a name like that?! You'd almost certainly
have to let them in your house when they come knocking, because, hey!,
they're charismatic! Pretty Seinfeldian, I know...
To be fair, I grew up in a nearly 100% Catholic town. My public school
shared the land with the huge church (the "mother church" for a 70km radius).
We had nuns as teachers and a principal. Depending on your grade (kinda
like an egg), we had church on various days of the week. Religion class
for grades 1-8 was held during school time, and the non-Catholics had
study hall then. There were two in our class of 66, and that represented
one of the largest ratios of non-catholics to catholics for the village
at the time. We Catholics take pride in not believing that other religious
belief systems exist, akin to the "see no evil" philosophy. :)
One of the nuns (our phys-ed teacher) mysteriously dropped the habit (!)
before we were in school, and she is co-featured (along with yours truly)
in the fine film "A League of their Own" as she was a consultant and is
shown playing ball during the closing credits... Aaah, I digress.
Finally, I can only surmise that Northwest Airlines is doing a huge favour
to the South, as they've grounded the normally irrepresible Mr. Emery. If
somehow they had the power to take away his computer! HAHAHA! Sorry, C.
