Re: the horse's mouth

hi, all. you'll remember that Laner said,

I think we can safely say that you love the band and the music. so do i, so does listie jan, so does everybody else on the list. however, this *is* a discussion list, and if all we were to say is how much we love the band, it would be a *boring* discussion list.

When jan posted her observation, I wondered if she regarded the lack of musical introduction as a "bad" thing. So, i asked her. She didn't. There was no malicious intent there to tear the hell out of the band. She just noticed something she found unusual, and wondered if you and i had ever noticed it either, and then having brought our attention to it, what we thought.
Let's say i asked listie jan if she thought it was a "bad" thing, and she had said yes. What would that mean? That she knows better than the band? That she's in a better position than Karin/ Linford/ Ric to assess songwriting? Or just that is her opinion? I'm sorry, i just didn't find anything in her post or the subsequent posts to take umbrage.
I love the band, too. But i love Oreo cookies, and i twist them apart!

I think perhaps you came down *just a little* heavy handed. She just posed a question. That she felt that she needed to defend herself belies the "humour" that you said you felt when reading her post.

Jan, i for one thank you for your question {"Thank you!" ;-)}. As a result of it, i had some good time with my 6 discs.
And, hey, at least you got a thread goin'!

Laner, i respect your opinion and i'm glad to see you posted. I just happen to think you're wrong, but that's *my* opinion.

good day, all.
