just my two cents about the letterman thing....

don't know how many of you noticed, but the Junkies song was recorded on
Wednesday night and re-played last night. you could tell because, 1) dave
didn't go congradulate the band after the song (he couldn't because the
difference in clothes would have been obvious) and 2) he said "wow. I just
dreamed the Cowboy Junkies were here" after their song....

best guess on the situation: on wednesday, letterman's people found out the
other two people scheduled for thursday weren't coming (emma samms and some
other english person) so they ran things long on wednesday ON PURPOSE so they
could put the junkies on last night.

overall, i thought the appearance was a positive thing. hopefully linford took
the opportunity to leave a copy of eve and gdbd or some "best of" kind of tape
with paul shaffer. 

any one catch all of GMA? i've already missed the first CJ spot.....
