gillian welch
hey everyone!
i saw gillian welch in concert tonight. she played at city stages, a HUGE
three-day music festival here in birmingham. she was the first act i got to
see actually. other notable acts tonight included semisonic, phil collins,
and soul asylum. there were plenty of not-so-well-known acts. there will be
lots more later in this weekend.
it was funny. i am not very familiar with her work, but like every other
lesbian within a 50 mile radius, i was drawn to the folky stage. i only knew
"orphan girl" from over the rhine shows, and that was the first song she
played!
she was really good.
so there's the otr connection.
