Operatic uber-bass Rene Pape <a

on Rammstein. This could be the best crazy crossover since
Apocalyptica arranged Metallica for four cellos. It could also suck,
depending on the arrangment. The quotes I saw from the arranger in
Opera News indicated me that he doesn't quite get Rammstein. He
said there's a disconnect between the lyrics gounded in German Romanticism
and their music. That's not the case at all. If you listen to the
Mutter album, it's a masterpiece of blending all that scary,
whacked-out Grimm's fairy tale German romanticism with a modern music
idion. Few bands have music as appropriate for their lyrics as
Rammstein.
I just ordered it 2-day air, and if it's any good and anyone's interested,
I'll report back in a few days. Fortunately, the CD is heavy on
Mutter, which is by far their best and most artistically mature
album.
