Jeff Bridges In _Discs Of Pr0n_ (oTr content, just barely)

Warning! Long rant about futurism. Do not read this!

Aaron Edwards wrote:

"I know it is kind of a joke here, and I recognize that you are all
misspelling it but, can we please stop the whole thing about loving porn
(pron)?

I realize that I am being a prude, but this is really something that I
feel strongly against.
Thanks for understanding, blessings you all! :-)"

A voice of wisdom and experience explained:

"A. The joke died hours ago.
B. It's not a misspelling, per se: pr0n is hackerspeak for porn."

Now, I get the opportunity to confuse the issue.

I assume that Aaron Edwards wishes that people didn't love prawns, or
pr0n, because it seems to have an effect, on the reproductive
componentry of his young mind, analogous to that of a gasoline mist upon
the average fire.

It might be like Saturday Night Live's Hollywood Minute with David
Spade, where he expressed a desire to view the film, _Showgirls_, but
didn't want to "become immune to 'boobs.'"

Up until now, there has been a huge condemnation of the immediate human
cost of a genre of show business that seems to seek out the youngest
possible "models," puts them in varying degrees of discomfort, often
diverting into humiliation, or, at least, the characters played (maybe
this is serious acting{Audio of rim shot here}) can often take some sort
of indignation and/or mistreatment. Too many tales of substance abuse,
depression, and suicide tend to leave a bad taste in the mouth of a
casual observer. (Audio of rim shot here).

As a society, we say that you must be, like Alice Cooper said, 18, and
can't show certain "obscene" acts. In most of Europe, it's 16, and it
seems anything goes, short of a snuff film.

The future twist in the question of societal ethics will be high quality
computer generated images, which, as demonstrated in the film, _Simone_
(get it? SimULATION ONE), will fool the viewing public, remove all of
the difficulties, both practical, and ethical, of flesh and blood
"models," and leave us with mindbendingly difficult questions.

If the Neverland Ranch Studios produce a 3-D virtual reality game where
you're a first person "shooter," who wears one glove, which grabs ahold
of very young guests, should that be legal?

If the realistic images of Grand Theft Auto 9: Pork Queen Tall Stack
City, viewed on the tiny eyeglasses screen wirelessly linked to your
Chapstick-sized Sony Walkplaymanstation 5, allow you to see intimate
details of the effect of your noisy yellow McCulloch chainsaw on rival
drug dealers in the Over-The-Rhine neighbourhood, as you receive Holy
Communion, or are bending down, praying toward Mecca, should that be
legal?

"a computer for a heart
we make it stop
and make it start
showing his devotion
while we feed on his emotion
and he calls it "art..."
