re: Music or Marriage?

I whole heartedly agree.  I was just recently in the thick of figuring out that decision myself.  There’s moments where you have to decide what is important.  It’s not to say that a decision to focus in on your relationship is a step backward, but the career will be there tomorrow and the next day but it seems as though moments building relationships are fleeting as vapor.  I think L/K’s decision speaks volumes to their integrity as people and as artists; you have to have a secure footing in life and seems to me that people that focus a bit too much on their careers end up paying for it in the end when they come to the end of their careers and look across the bed at night at a stranger.

Yeah, go home and put some love on each other! :)

considering going to the Baltimore show.

Let me clarify: I *do not* think this is a
backward move for the Detweilers. In my case, I
left a daily newspaper to work for a weekly
paper, at a pay cut. Amongst journalists, there's
a look-down-your-nose attitude toward weekly
newspapers.

But it paid dividends in my marriage and even
financially (since I lived in the town where I
worked and wasn't spending money on gas) and
professionally.

So, if Linford and Karin are reading this: I
admire you for your decision, and my prayers are
with you.
