I had this very similar thought as I was flipping channels and caught
David Grey on the radio. I thought "man, this is kind of a similar
style to OtR, in that it's kinda mellow, pensive... except that it's
totally and uterlly BORING and uninteresting to say the least. Why the
heck does crap like this get played and not OtR?"

I too hope that they might get some more exposure with this album.
Basically, all I've had to do is play OtR for people, and about 80% end
up liking them (with maybe about half that actually purchasing
something).

Don't be too disappointed - PasteMusic is an indie distributor. They're
a small group (just a few people) who run the website specifically so
people can get access to cool music like Over the Rhine and other even
less well known artists. Like Miranda Stone. If you haven't tried her,
you should.

By the way, the whole marriage consolodation thread reminded me of when
my wife and I were discussing wedding invitations. She mentioned
something about "velum" in such a way that assumed I didn't know what it
was. I said I knew what velum was. She said "You do?" in an
disbelieving tone of voice. I said yes, and proceeded to pull out my
_Til We Have Faces_ CD to show her.

She was impressed. ;)
