re:cincy folks

Shopping+Food:
1. Ludlow in Clifton is good and has a Deweys, Ambar (excellent Indian), and
Habenero(burritos Grande!)

2.Old Hyde Park Square, Erie Ave.: It's just so darned cute! A couple
galleries, some neat shops... Eat at Teller's 2710 Erie (cool old bank with
excellent yummy food) or Graeters (icecream) if hungry. Down the street from
gorgeous Ault park 3600 Observatory!

3. And not far from Rookwood Commons/Pavilion, Madison and Edwards, where
there's all kinds of fun chain & yuppie shops in a fun combo + Jo-Beth books
(Great for those Bibliophiles among us!) It has Lemon Grass 2666
Madison(yummy yummy Thai). Down the street a bit is Dewey's 3014
Madison(awesome pizza), and Aglamises Bros. 3046 Madison (really the BESTEST
icecream I've had outside Europe). Down the street the other way is The
Bonbonerie 2030 Madison (a bit farther out but Oh gawd! Such cakes as you
may cream yourself! Also available at Dewey's for dessert!!)

4. Mt. Adams, St. Gregory Street: Fun shops, good (yet often priceyish)
eats, fun bars (Blind Lemon),
Teak (more yummy thai) home of Eden Park (pretty!) ,and (HELLO, UNCULTURED
PEOPLE OF CINCINNATI!) the AMAZING collection of the Cincinnati Art Museum
http://www.cincinnatiartmuseum.org/ , which is now FREE TO ALL! (Geez, mon!)
You can also eat in a kiln at Rookwood Pottery if you like that sort of
thing...

Be sure to at least do a drive by of the Hall of Justice in hopes of seeing
one of your favourite super heroes (disguised by the name Union Terminal,
1301 Western Ave) http://www.cincymuseum.org/ , home to the Natural History
Museum (my fave), Cincinnati History Museum, Children's Museum, Omnimax
Theater, Amtrax (should you feel the need to take a train somewhere), and
Magical Drinking Fountains.
If you feel like going "over the river", Newport on the Levy is neat and has
lots of fishes....but the aquarium's a bit pricey I think...
We do have a very cool zoo and botanical garden...if the broken spirits of
wild animals do not depress you, you should check it out...
http://www.cincyzoo.org/ Again with the $$ (11.50), but just the manatees
are pretty much worth it. If you go, be ready to hike...it's big!

Skyline was the last "meat" I ate 13 years ago.... I still think about it
sometimes when I smell it while driving by, but it's an aquired taste, as
you may notice from Dan's post. Chili with cinnamon and chocolate involved
is not for everyone... Larosa's INHO is kinda boring. I think they know it
and that's why they've switched from just pizza to anything even vaguely
Italian on their Menus. Plus, to get it vegetarian style you have to ask
for no sauce as their primary yummy ingredient is LARD.

So that's some of my ideas... you may check http://www.cincinnati.com for
festivals or events on the days you are here...

Blessings,
