Sound Recording Question (no OtR)

Here is my question for all of you who are "sound" people.  My pc CD burner
is on the fritz and has been for awhile.  My options are:

(a) save up and buy a new computer in the not too distant future.
(b) buy a real cd burner
(c) any other options that y'all might come up with.

I just want to burn CD's, make mix CD's and burn full bootlegs to trade.

What options/brands would y'all reccomend.....or a place to start.
