OTR in St Louis review

Just wanted to write a few words about a show I saw in the Duck Room in St
Louis on Saturday. Over the Rhine performed as an acoustic duo, and it
worked very nicely. Karin was in fine voice and Linford was very solid in
his keyboard/guitar duties. I just really love most of their songs,
imcluding "The Seahorse," "Anything at All (new one)," "Lucy," and
"Etcetera, Whatever."
Quite a nice crowd on hand. To tell you the truth, there were more people to
see OTR than their were to see the Junkies at Mississippi Nights last month.
That's no knock on the Junkies, obviously, but it just goes to show that you
can definitely schedule a show on the wrong night, as was the Junkies case
when the Junkies were in town, battling it out with the Cards, Blues, and
Elvis Costello.

After the show, Karin and Linford came out and talked and they were very
nice. I talked to Karin about Emmylou Harris, the Junkies, etc. They both
seemed like very sincere musicians. Linford told me that their work with the
Junkies "is probably at its end." He obviously meant this in a positive way,
telling me that they thoroughly enjoyed their time with the Junkies. It was
nice to talk to them both.

I do not have any pictures from the concert because my digital camera was
stolen last week. So, to those of you who have been enjoying my photos on my
website, there may not be any for quite a while

Here's to Karin and Linford of Over The Rhine for cheering up my weekend!
Thanks.
