Careful, though.  There is nothing inherently wrong with "vulgar" art --
the word "vulgar" simply means "of the common people" (hence Jerome's
translation of the Bible into Latin, then the common tongue, was called
the "Vulgate").  Objections to "vulgar" art tend to be based more on class
strictures than on anything particularly "Christian".  I am reminded of a
scene in _Everyone's All-American_ where Jessica Lange, playing a proper
southern belle, objects to a lowbrow poem of John Goodman's ("Listen,
listen, cat's a-pissin'...") by saying, "That's so *common*!"
