Re: think for yourself

Am I the only person who's puzzled why anyone would get worked up about the idea that politics is playing a role here?  Everything that every president does (and probably every other politician) has political ramifications.  Also, it's not impossible for something to be both the right thing to do and be politically expedient.

I spend my days now immersed in political rhetoric. I don't think I'm being overly cynical to say that I absolutely do believe that Bush's pushing for war right now is very much tied to his desire to influence the upcoming mid-term elections. I know at least some of what's going on out there, it's my job. Bush may have the best of intentions in the main, but I believe he also has subcontexts to which he's giving far too much weight.
