Subject: babysitting and over the rhine...

hi kids.

since i work in day care, i land a lot of babysitting jobs.  i know, i'm a
little old to be babysitting, but it's fun to do in my spare time, and when
pay day seems *so* far away...it helps out just a little bit.

anyway, i was watching trevor and trey last night, two of my absolute
favorites.  i took them from the day care to the mall, where we had pizza and
then played in the "mr. rodger's neighborhood" playground.  one thing i try
to do, though, is play age-appropriate music in the car.  i usually have a
disney collections cd or something in my car, but i forgot it this morning.
i tuned my radio to "radio disney" and thought that would be ok...

goodness, did i get tired of all the hip-hop poppy stuff!  i couldn't bear it
anymore, so i hit the CD button on my stereo, and jack's voice filled my car,
singing "farewell barefoot ballerina, with the splinters in your feet."
trevor, who had been silent up until then, shouted, "i love this song!"  i
just sort of turned around and said, "you do?"  then, when the cd looped
around to play *go down easy*, i asked him if he liked that song, and he said
yes.

he's three and a half, and his older brother listens to linkin park and
staind.  do you think maybe i made a convert?  probably not, but it's worth
exploring!  :)

happy thursday.

*hugz and kisses*
