Brady's cafe

I hate when I have to step out of the shadows to be the bearer of bad news.


Brady's Cafe in Kent is closing at the end of the month. There will be a 
"going away" party this friday, and various events throughout the week.

This is a great loss, not just in the sense of ever dwindling numbers of 
venues like Brady's, nor just the local community.

This one hurts personally. I spent the last 12 years of my life growing up 
in that coffeehouse. I saw OTR play there for the first time when they were 
just getting out of town gigs.
I'm third generation Brady patron. My grandparents danced there before they 
got married. My folks and co. drank there when it was the campus bar. I've 
written 90 percent of my work there.
Hell, it's where I learned to flirt.

Maybe its another sign that I should get that degree and get out of dodge, 
but...

So tonight I'm off to Euclid to see Black 47 and work out some of those 
agressions to the new land owners. Then tomarrow its back to School.
