feeling reticent. i used up most of my words on introducing myself to
someone at church, and teaching a couple kids how to climb.

a/c is amazing.

i spent my weekend discovering how humid it really is out here. i always
felt like it was dry here (after richmond VA). i rode 6 miles and felt
like i'd been wrung out with a string.

saw signs with a friend of mine. i liked it a lot. i liked how quiet most
of the film was, and how the brother was wierd. (: i coudln't figure for a
while how they'd help with the divorce of the main character from his
faith, but it worked.

this is funny: at first i couldn't look, the dread was too much. i didn't
want to see. but then eventually, i looked and realised how silly my dread
had been. kinda like when you're a kid and you have nightmares of people
under your bed who're gonna shape shift and come and steal your breath,
and then you grow up and realise that it's just dark.

he played well on that fear. it's strange how closely reality and your
head can parallel things, until in the middle of the night when you wake
up, you're not sure which real is real. and you touch your face, touch the
wall. the cool dry plaster and the wet clammy skin somehow combine to
create a now that allows you to find the light switch. and suddenly your
skin fits you like it should.

i liked the younger brother - he reminded me of jude law's interactions
with the kid in AI - similar descents into madness,

i guess mel gibson would be similar to david's creator... sort of. but
that would involve spoiling.

um.
