Re: Thoughts on Jonah (was Re: Radio Satan) and let me add pharoah to thediscussion




so if God can be convinced that he has gone too far....does that mean he is
fallible?  if he "changes his mind"...does that mean he has made a mistake
...or was about to make a mistake?   i'm not saying i believe that...just
posing the question. and along those lines...my nephew posed this question
to my father 1 week before my father died...and i'm curious how some of you
would answer this question....why did God harden pharoah's heart when moses
was asking for the israelites to be released from slavery? just throwing it
out for discussion....

Not really my thread, but I thought I'd point out that
the point can easily be made back in Jonah, where you
started.  After the Ninevites repent and fast and so
forth God has compassion on them (NIV, I believe) and
changes his mind (NRSV, I believe) about drenching the
city in fire.

My small group just finished a quick study on Jonah,
so it's on my mind :-)
