with regards to jack's valentine -- my .02 b/c i
almost never post anything to do with otr (brace
yourself people):

my first and only inclination is to believe that

'there's that word again, i still hear it every now
and again'

is in direct reference to the word 'love'.  the entire
song seems to be addressing the quandries of love, the
author's (or jack's) perceived inability to grasp
self-love, love of god, love of others.  and well,
it's titled "jack's valentine".  valentine = love. 
(or so some say, when it's not being commercialized by
hallmark).

my apologies if these points are repeats (i haven't
read all the posts in my box yet)
