I remember playing the lead in Neal Simon's 'God's
Favorite' and having to tackle a four page monologue. 
How did I do it?  Well I was much younger then. 
That's all I can say...
I've had some doozies since, but none like that one.
Actually, I typically use the little-chunk-at-a-time
method, with each chunk building on the previous
chunk.
