Hey, a discussion about music for kids!

I have a 17-month-old, and I long for him to
become a fan of good music. So I've played OTR
and many others for him, but he goes absolutely
nuts for Bert and Ernie's Greatest Hits!
Nathaniel loves to dance to "Rubber Duckie," "Pat
Your Tummy" and all the others. I'll be honest --
there's a quality to these songs that I don't get
sick of, even after repeated listens!

We have Raffi, but I'm not such a big fan. He's
OK. I did get turned onto Dan Zanes -- anyone
ever heard of him? His CD "Family Dance" is
really good -- fun, unique arrangements of
traditional songs that kids love and that parents
can enjoy. He even makes the "Hokey Pokey" fun to
listen to -- a wedding reception arrangement it
isn't! I think Kelvin would be happy to know that
on this CD, the "Hokey Pokey" is what it's all
about.
