RE: elephants



What's funny about my opinion of zoos is that I'm not that much of an animal
lover.  I think, maybe, because Atlanta's zoo was just so bad that even
someone who otherwise wouldn't care that much would have found it
unacceptable.  I just remember it not being that much fun to go to the zoo.

I dunno...I can honestly say that going to the Washington National Zoo here
in DC as a child was always a wonderful experience as a child.  The Pandas
were awesome..lions and tigers..the monkey house stank.  I would agree
somewhat with the assessment of them not being in their natural environment
and don't condone the mistreatment of animals...but Zoo's have always
represented something happy to me.
