for MP3s, all you really need is WinAmp to listen.

most new CD Burner programs can now burn to a music
CD with an MP3 or a WAV file. old programs had to
be in WAV firmat (so, you'd have to transfer your
MP#s to WAV with WinAmp's plugins or something).
a 54k modem will work, but it'll probably take you
about 30 minutes/song. rough estimate.
