Since Appropriate is too concerned with propriaty to say it, I will spell it 
out- no thongs, briefs, speedo, bikinis etc.  How could that be appropriate, 
given he's also known as "the man of steel"?

Boxers.  Baggy, shiny, happy boxers, are the only "appropraite" thing, given 
this fact.
