Color Your World With Ink
I say that the piercing thing is pretty much a newer trend of you youngin's.
Back in my day (many moons ago--it was so lovingly called "The '80s") if you
had your left ear lobe double-pierced for a guy that was way cool. Now I'm
seeing things that look like the size of nickels plugged in skaterat's ears.
Not that it's not "cool"- but man, there's a hole that'll never go away!
I prefer tattoos myself. Got a few - some black and white dolphins in
yin-yang formation on my left arm (similar, but not the same, as Flea from
RHCP) and the Amnesty International Candle in Barbed Wire Logo on my right (I
was the pres. of the student chapter at Syracuse Univ. back in the early
90's).
And, for those of you involved in the what about work thing--if you're young,
in college or whatever, and you're wondering about the impact of it all in
the working world, either get a job where no one's gonna give two hoots about
it, or stick to the tattoos so you can wear long sleeves or a jacket and long
pants to cover up for work mode, then you're still yourself, expressing your
individuality as you like, and fit in no matter what the situation calls for.
Just my two cents. Or nickels. Karma Karma Karma Karma Karma Chameleon...
Happily Tattooed,
greg
