those kinds of warrants just go on your file,
and if you get pulled over by a cop in the near
future, they can tack stuff on to your fine(s).
it's not like they'd come pounding down your
door... :)

they wouldn't want you to volunteer, because then
you (allegedly) wouldn't be "selected of ones
peers" or impartial.  you might want to drag it
out to get more pay.

i think you get paid a nominal fee from the court
($10-15/day or something small like that).  your
employer isn't required to pay you for that day,
but they are required to let you have that day
off without pay.  they can't fire you for taking
off to do jury duty.

that's my understanding of it.
