Re: good lord, something on topic ;) ...



I've just finished the Poisonwood Bible.  It made me
very sad. All I know is that I would never have made
it out of the jungle alive.  In some ways, the story
reminded me of what happened in Canada with Aboriginal
people... How the "white" man didn't think the native
people knew much of anything before their arrival,
didn't respect their traditions, customs or beliefs.
Sad.

I need time to "digest it" before I pick up another
book.  Has anyone else read it? Any thoughts?
