i haven't seen the movie, and confess that i want to. i tend to go for 
teensploitation movies, musicals, extravaganzas (that aren't titanic or 
pearl harbor), und so weiter.

i can understand, though, why people looking for a real "film" would dislike 
moulin rouge. it isn't a real "film", but i don't think it claims to be. 
it's a splashy story, tinted red, choc-a-bloc with anachronism and basically 
a long-form music video. that's fine if that's what you like/don't like.

i'm not sure if i'll like it, simply because i saw the trailers for R+J and 
was positive i would Luuuuuurve it...then i saw the movie and thought it was 
horrid. i think that's just because i don't think leo can act, and at the 
time i was having issues with claire danes.

but i liked strictly ballroom!
