a conversation about the wheaton show?

hi david and list,

first, guten morgen. i'm enjoying a grey day in
charleston in the company of my family, as i finally
have a little break.

i think you've missed several points almost perfectly.
no. i don't think anyone is downing your
perspective. there were maybe a couple of things that
warranted responses, and on this list the responses
are often tongue and cheek, just to clear that up.

> to very much like and

though i can't speak for bruce or for dan, i think
this proposal was initiated b/c it couldn't have
registered that you were actually making the
declaration that the band was ill-prepared. neither
one (1. that assumption or 2. an assumption about your
tastes regarding acoustic etc.) are very
believable...but the latter seems more possible than
the former.

> Finally, the latest attack was based on a loose
> reading of my critique as a
> "pedestaled mocking of those who were discussing the

> the rhine with Christianity and art etc."

i assure you that it was not an attack...just a note
of the simple pot calling the kettle black. how
farsical that getting into points and subpoints about
musical opinions is a conversational focus when god
forbid some people on the list want to sort out their
questions regarding the connections b/w faith and the
arts (particularly in reference to the featured
artists here) and be (even subtly) criticized for it.

> list that I am truly sorry for hurting your

> propaganda-like filth and my heretic slurs against

> Karen! (note to all past and future listees- NOTE
> THE SARCASM!!!!!!!!)

don't worry, much has come before. see posts
regarding heroworship. and david, i personally
appreciate good questions. just as you may not be
able to say they were unprepared, we couldn't say they
were. still, one seems more likely than the other.
all is speculation here in such conversation, and i
for one appreciate your comments. i would just say
that comments here usually receive responses. it's
healthy and isn't all that personal. when it gets
that way, as a group, i have found a strong checking
and reevaluating.

one of the greatest things about this list is that i
feel "safe" saying what i think. i feel secure that i
will receive honest feedback. also, i have found a
lot of maturity in the members and grace for when i'm
completely stupid. so thanks to all who've
participated in making that kind of community.

take care,
marie
