Hey...
I've been totally skimming the posts recently because I have been so busy,
but I did notice that you all are talking about what other music we listen
to...
Fran has recently found an artist via Napster that she loves named Edie
Carey. Has anyone mentioned her yet? Fran describes her as Ani without the
edge, but the songs I have heard don't sound much like Ani. Maybe more like
Sarah McLaughlin meets Patty Griffin.
Also, I wanted to comment on someone's mention of Dime Store Prophets. What
a great group! "Love is Against the Grain" was a really good album. I met
them when they came through Birmingham (when I lived there) many years ago.
We all went out to dinner after the show, and Masaki and Justin stayed up
with us talking for hours. Great guys. Didn't much like their second album,
and being way out of the CCM loop, I haven't heard much from them. I assume
they broke up...?
