I think I shall jump in....
Howdy everyone,
(No I don't live in Indiana, so please don't think the howdy thing is a hick
talkin', cuz' I'll give y'all a good noggin' rubbin'.)
But anywayz, back to lurkerdom I went when I (and the rest of the Kentites)
returned from the Taft last weekend. I guess I will make an apperance, cause
I got time.
First, I am on aol and I don't think it is that bad. Everyone I know has
had problems with any of the versions of netbrowsing they are on. of course,
I get it for free, so I guess I can't complain.
Second, the whole Indiana thing has got to go. Some parts of Ohio and the
rest of the midwest are like what you all are talking about. in fact, it is
very much a midwest "feature". We deal with it and move on (or away if you
are lucky enough).
Third, and the biggest of course. Thank you to all of you that came down to
the Taft. I (just generalize that - oops, I forgot those are bad things - to
include Alyssa) had a great time. I was happy to get reaquainted with some
old faces, and to put faces to those e-mails I have read that I didn't know
before. (Did any of that make sense?) We had a lot of fun, and look forward
to doing it again. Or maybe some of you ought to come to Kent to see
someone.....or just to see us. :) ). I thought OTR did a good job at the
show. I think they sounded better than they have in a good year or more.
They were happy and it showed in their music. I, for one, loved the drum
player (sorry I am not good with names... I don't watch soaps, so I have no
need to know everything.). He added depth, and was a welcome change of pace.
Then again, I have the bass cranked all the way up in my car, and prefer
drums to some people.
Ron was amusing, though too slow for my tastes. I tried not to fall asleep.
I like musicains like that on occasions, but not ones where I have been up
since early morning, and have driven all day. Yawn. On the whole, I believe
he has talent.
And now that a was just about to get on some of your good sides.... let me
tackle Sixpence. The band is excellent. After... (yes, after) I tuned out
Leigh (I think that's who you all have been talking about). She was very
distracting. To me it was like hearing a band but having the singer locked
up in the next room over. She didn't fit right, and made the overall
appearance sound off. Though she was very happy to be there, during the
oncor (shit, I can't spell), she appeared to not play her part well. Like
she was annoyed at Ron who kept butting into her part. "Please, let's just
get this over" would be the thought I would see in her mind. I cringed, and
groaned and moped a whole lot when they played "Kiss Me". This I mean with
no offense, but I hate that song! UGH! They have it on the muzac at my
workplace and I have to hear it at least three times a day everyday. ANY
song, (no matter how good or bad) will hit you like a ton of bricks after
that. Sorry, my opinions... feel free to banter back all you want.
See, the nice thing about this list (contrairy to someone's beliefs) is that
we are all free to express our opinions, as opposed to most cliques who use
the "If you will I will" approach to jumping off cliffs. The differences are
not narrowminded. They make us unique.
So there,
Heather
